On Saturday,
May 20 and Sunday, May 21, 2006, The Chippewa County Rural Heritage Days
(CCRHD) held their 5th Annual Tractor Drive and Tillage Day at Trout Creek
Tavern. These events were captured on high quality video and are
currently for sale as a DVD. The images you see here are actual shots
from the video. You can find purchasing information for this DVD at the
bottom of this page. Day 1 consisted of a tractor drive that began at Trout Creek Tavern.
From there the participants drove to the Colfax Area Nursing Home where the residents could come out to see the tractors and talk to the folks there.
After leaving the nursing home, and a drive down main street Colfax, the next stop was at the Colfax Fairgrounds. There was plenty to eat. The CCRHD had charcoal chicken and other good food for the hungry.
After the dinner and a little rest it was back on the road. Through the country side and back to Trout Creek Tavern.
Day 2 consisted of some small engine and tractor powered demonstrations and the tillage event.
It turned out to be a great weekend and a lot of fun for the family. The DVD has over one-and-a-half hours
of video from this two-day event, along with narration from Gerald
"Bear" Eder and music by local artist, Michael Quick. The DVD comes in a
full size case with a color cover and information about upcoming CCRHD
events. For purchasing information, please contact either Gerald Eder (715.962.9191) Vicky Trinko (715.568.2037)
